Kwia Vigorbloom

Kwia Vigorbloom, in addition to being a 6/6 flyer with lifelink, vigilance, and ward , also creates a Black Lotus the first time you gain life every turn.

Clearly, you’ll want to guarantee that extra mana. Soul sisters such as Soul Warden and Soul’s Attendant will get you there, of course, but I, personally, recommend instant-speed punch spells like Bite Down to both knock out enemy commanders and to heal yourself through Kwia’s damage. You don’t even have to hold up that much mana every turn; each punch pays for itself in Lotuses.

If you don’t like my punch idea, and the data says you don’t (sadly), then you’re probably more interested in turning all those Lotuses into a massive Genesis Wave or maybe fifteen 1/1s, which (of course) triggers all those soul sisters again.

There’s no need to rush, though. You’ll basically always have mana for some sort of defensive spell, so play slow, control the board, protect your value pieces, and win the way all lifegain decks inevitably do: Aetherflux Reservoir.
